Population ageing – quest for redefinition of generational contract?
Demographic change, especially population ageing, is related to terms determining distribution of resources over lifespan and across generations. Two kinds of generational contract – i.e. the public one, dealing with redistribution of services and financial resources via government, and the private one, determining how family members distribute their goods over their kin-network – are touched by demographic, axiomatic, and technological change. The paper deals with the most important consequences of the changes to the generational contract in the future.
