dc.description.abstract | The author delved into the concept of the extended social world within the realms of new materialism sociology and vegan sociology. They initiated a preliminary investigation to analyze the perceptions of the aging of non-human animals in both physical and virtual public domains. The investigation scrutinized the presence and absence of elderly animals in diverse environments such as zoos, animal shelters, commercial farms, and sanctuaries. The author deliberated on the potential concealment of older animals from public view to prevent discomfort; the likelihood of some animals experiencing self-imposed isolation for better welfare, not reaching old age due to being killed for meat; and the practice of how others are put on display in order to build connections with observers and encourage donations for the care of specific individuals, and the maintenance of the facilities. | en |
| pl |
