Soggetto scrivente e oggetto resistente: l’autodeterminazione attraverso Diario partigiano di Ada Prospero Gobetti

Abstract

This study aims to examine the literary, historical, and self-determining value that the autobiographical memoir writing of Diario partigiano held for its author, Ada Prospero Gobetti. The analysis of the work, conducted through the methodologies of gender studies and women’s history, makes it possible to grasp the innovative scope of Gobetti’s intervention in the diary genre, both in its formal reworking and in the alternation of registers and narrative modes. The analysis also highlights the resistant and self-determining function of memoir writing, through which the author consciously constructs her own self-representation. Particular significance is given to the maternal role toward the young combatant Paolo: the care and education of her son transcend the private sphere to take on the character of a universal civic responsibility, while the account of everyday life intertwines with the narrative of the collective struggle.Ultimately, Diario partigiano makes clear that participation in the Resistance was not only a political and military experience, but also an opportunity to redefine female and educational models, contributing to the renegotiation of the boundaries of motherhood and political engagement.

Il presente studio mira ad esaminare il valore letterario, storico ed autodeterminante che ebbe la scrittura memorialistica autobiografica di Diario partigiano per l’autrice, Ada Prospero Gobetti. L’analisi dell’opera, effettuata attraverso le metodologie degli studi di genere e della storia delle donne, consente di cogliere la portata innovativa dell’intervento di Gobetti sul genere diaristico, sia nella rielaborazione formale sia nell’alternanza di registri e modalità narrative. L’analisi mette inoltre in luce la funzione resistenziale ed autodeterminante della scrittura memoriale, attraverso la quale l’autrice costruisce consapevolmente la propria autorappresentazione. Particolare rilievo assume il ruolo materno nei confronti del giovane combattente Paolo: la cura e l’educazione del figlio trascendono la dimensione privata per configurarsi come responsabilità civile universale, mentre il racconto della quotidianità si intreccia con la narrazione della lotta collettiva.In definitiva, Diario partigiano rende evidente che la partecipazione alla Resistenza non consistette solo in un’esperienza politica e militare, ma rappresentò un’occasione di ridefinizione dei modelli femminili ed educativi, contribuendo a rinegoziare i confini della maternità e dell’impegno politico.
